📘 Program Includes:
• Behind-the-Wheel Training: 7 Total Appointments
• Lesson Length – Each session is approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes
– 50 minutes of hands-on driving practice
– 50 minutes observing another student
• First 6 Lessons = Instruction & Practice
– Emphasis on learning traffic laws, vehicle control, and defensive driving techniques
• 7th Lesson = Road Skills Evaluation
– Student must present classroom completion paperwork
– Successful students receive a Driver Training Certificate (DTS-B)
– Certificate is valid for 180 days
📄 About the DTS-B Certificate:
• Used with a learner’s permit as temporary driving authorization
• Activates once the student:
– Reaches 16 years and 3 months of age
– Has held a learner’s permit for 9 months
• DTS-B is submitted to the DMV by our school
• Juvenile Court sends a postcard within approximately 3 months
• Postcard includes licensing ceremony information
• Permanent license is issued at the ceremony
